DeWitt County well water users can pick up kits to test their water that may have been contaminated by flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.
Kits can be picked up at the DeWitt County AgriLife Extension office, 115 N. Gonzales St., Suite E, Cuero. Only 100 kits are available, according to a news release from the DeWitt County AgriLife Extension office.
Kits must be returned to the office between 8 and 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Instructions are included with the kits, and only one sample kit will be provided per household.
AgriLife Extension's Texas Well Owner Network is collaborating with Rebuild Texas, Virginia Tech and others to provide the free water testing for total coliform and E. Coli in private water wells.
