A three-vehicle wreck sent an 81-year-old Victoria woman and a 57-year-old Victoria man to a Victoria hospital with minor injuries Monday afternoon.
The woman was southbound on Main Street in the turning lane in a red Lincoln MKZ, attempting to turn left onto Airline Road, said officer Ashley Rendon, of the Victoria Police Department. The man was traveling north in a black Lincoln Town Car on Main Street in the outside lane. Both vehicles had green lights, but the woman failed to yield the right of way to the black Lincoln, which caused the crash about 2:15 p.m.
"The impact was so strong, there was a third car that was also involved," Rendon said.
The black car and possibly the red Lincoln crashed into a red Chevrolet Equinox that was stopped at a red light on Airline Road, leaving minimal damage.
The woman driving the red Lincoln and the man driving the black Lincoln were both taken to Citizens Medical Center with minor injuries, Rendon said. The man driving the Equinox was not injured. Their names were not available Monday night.
No citations have been issued, but that could change, Rendon said.
A small portion of Airline Road was closed for about 30 minutes.
