Victoria resident Ben Keating drove his Mercedes-AMG to a second-place finish with his team in the 24-hour Circuit of The Americas on Nov. 10-11 in Austin.

Keating, 46, is a native of Tomball, but resides in Victoria.

Keating has won many prior awards for racing including the North American Endurance Championship in October, and the IMSA victory in the GT Daytona.

"This was one of the most enjoyable events of my year," Keating said. "I did 15 races this year, and I really loved this particular event. I love racing in Austin, and I love racing close to home."

The 24-hour race completed 14 hours on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday.

Keating and his team fell short of first place by three laps due to issues with a front tire.

"I absolutely love racing, and I love representing Victoria," he said. "I'm in the car business, obviously, and I enjoy being able to represent my business and my passion in this sport."
