Crossroads towns offer Christmas fun

VICTORIA COUNTY

VICTORIA - Celebrate local shopping and food with more than 70 local vendors and food trucks at the Small Business Saturday event at 9 a.m. Saturday at Greener Acres Market Days.

Wild Foods will be serving a Thanksgiving meal to the public for $25 per person, and kids can eat free from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at 207 N. Navarro St.

CALHOUN COUNTY

PORT LAVACA - The Port Lavaca Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard will start collecting toys for the Blue Santa program at noon Saturday at Walmart, 400 Tiney Browning Blvd.

DEWITT COUNTY

CUERO - Christmas in the Park will be open nightly from 6-10 p.m. at Cuero City Park; enter from the street adjacent to H-E-B. Shop Small Saturday in Cuero will take place Saturday with a shopping tournament from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a "Tea Off" breakfast at Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, 302 N. Esplanade St.; registration is $10 per person.

YORKTOWN - Yorktown City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the City Council Chamber Room at City Hall, 119 E. Main St. Bible study for children and adults will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 541 N. West St.; children's study begins at 5 p.m. and adults study begins at 7 p.m.

GOLIAD COUNTY

GOLIAD - The Scott Taylor Band will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at Schroeder Hall, 12516 Farm-to-Market Road 622; doors open at 8 p.m. and admission is $8.

The Goliad County commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the county courthouse, 127 N. Courthouse Square.

BERCLAIR - Christmas tours of the Berclair Mansion are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 14 Moore St.; admission is $10 per person.

JACKSON COUNTY

EDNA - The annual coat drive hosted by Edna City Hall is accepting new or gently used coats, hats, gloves and blankets through Dec. 13; drop-off donations at City Hall, 126 W. Main St.

Edna Shop at Home event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in downtown Edna.

LAVACA COUNTY

HALLETTSVILLE - The Festival of Lights will begin with events at noon Saturday in downtown Hallettsville; the Lighting Extravaganza will take place between 5:45 and 6 p.m.; story time for children up to 3 years old will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 30 at Friench Simpson Memorial Library, 705 E. Fourth St.
