"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18
At this Thanksgiving time, I am so grateful for my blessings and especially for the quality time I have enjoyed with my granddaughter, Marilyn Elaine, and my great-grandson, Joseph.
Kinfolk seem to to have a way of slowly creeping into your life while you aren't even thinking about it. The older kids can sneak out of your life because it just seems the right thing to do, and we older ones can sneak back in waiting to renew the good times they were thankful for when they were little.
I guess I will call the coming-and-going routine part of life's ongoing plan.
I am so glad that somebody named this holiday Thanksgiving, and I enjoy that homecoming experience. I love that feeling of "what comes around goes around" as I waddle away from one more Thanksgiving dinner.
I have had a wonderful time with my family, and we enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal with turkey, dressing and all the trimmings.
I thank God for the feelings of getting and giving, which are precious to all of us. We talked of precious times from the past.
Now tomorrow, Marilyn will grill shrimp for us to enjoy, and we will talk of our next trip to the beach where we can enjoy the most beautiful things in life just because God loves us.
Dear Lord, I am so thankful for the good times I have spent with my family and I am Thankful for all of Your blessings. Way to go, God.
