The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center has had a busy year responding to a number of disaster including Hurricane Harvey and the Sutherland Springs shooting victims.

The UHV soccer teams did their part Monday in helping the STBTC by hosting their annual blood drive. The team paired up with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center for the successful drive with a donor trailer at the UHV athletic office.

A number of student-athletes and staff members donated, including head soccer coach Adrian Rigby, assistant soccer coach Brandon Misuraca and assistant softball coach Mac Christensen.

There were 23 successful donors and 25 units collected, which could help as many as 75 patients, according to the STBTC.
