Christmas events scheduled across Crossroads

Victoria County

• Ring in the holiday season at Christmas on the Square at 6 p.m. Friday at DeLeon Plaza where the festivities will continue with Lighted Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday. Bring the kids to embrace their inner elves at Elf Adventure Day at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Children's Discovery Museum and stop by the Crossroads Cruisers Toys for Tots Car Show to donate toys to the less fortunate at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Health Center.

Calhoun County

• PORT O' CONNOR - The Port O' Connor Community Service Club will host a Senior Christmas Lunch at 11 a.m. Friday at the Port O' Connor Community Center. Boats will participate in the Freeport to Port O'Connor Toy Run to deliver toys to children in need at 8 a.m. Saturday, starting at Surfside Marina followed by the annual lighted boat parade at 6:45 p.m. on the Intracoastal Waterway.

• PORT LAVACA - Celebrate Christmas with hot chocolate, ice skating and Santa Claus at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bayfront Peninsula Park.

• REFUGIO - The Refugio County Chamber of Commerce will host its first Christmas Jingle and Mingle for local businesses at 7 p.m. Saturday at A Little Britt of Heaven. Guests must bring an unwrapped toy to attend and can purchase a Christmas tree to decorate for auction at the end of the evening.

• SEADRIFT - The Seadrift Chamber of Commerce is hosting a holiday house decorating contest and will be judged based on originality, arrangement, theme, and overall presentation for cash prizes. Homeowners and businesses must register by 6 p.m. Dec. 11 on the chamber's Facebook page.

DeWitt County

CUERO - Christmas in the Park Drive Through will open Monday and be open daily from 6 to 10 p.m. at Cuero City Park; enter from the street adjacent to H-E-B. The December Community leaders meeting is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Cuero ISD School Board Room, 960 E. Broadway; RSVP to ssolis@cityofcuero.com.

NORDHEIM - Market Days will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Bar, 208 Broadway St. A chilli and cornbread dinner will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday at the fire station, 205 Broadway St.; Santa Claus also will be at the fire station at 6 p.m. the same day.

Goliad County

GOLIAD - Christmas in Goliad begins at 5 p.m. Friday in downtown Goliad with vendors on the Square; the lighted Christmas parade will begin at 7 p.m. Christmas in Goliad continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday with food, arts and crafts booths, performances and the Best Dog Contest at 205 S. Market St.; the Christmas Rendezvous and Trade Fair at Presidio La Bahia, 217 Loop 71; and Christmas at the Mission from 6 to 8 p.m. at 108 Park Road 6.

BERCLAIR - Christmas at the Mansion is scheduled for Saturday with gates opening at 11 a.m. and lunch following at 11:30. Adult tickets are $25 and $12 for children 10 years and under.

Jackson County

EDNA - The Texas High School Rodeo Association Region 7 Rodeo will start at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Brackenridge Main Event Center, 284 Brackenridge Parkway; admission free for spectators. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office, R Bank and Edna Fire Department are hosting a Toy Drive and will collect new unwrapped toys for children ages 1 to 10 years until Dec. 21; toys may be dropped off at the sheriff's office, police department or R Bank.

Lavaca County

HALLETTSVILLE - The Lions Club will host an arts and craft show from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 321 U.S. 77.

• YOAKUM - Christmas on Grand will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday with the Reindeer Run 5K at 8:30 a.m. The day will continue in downtown Yoakum with food and crafts vendors, contests and free music; the lighted parade will be at 7 p.m. and will start at the intersection of North Street and Grand.

MOULTON - Hometown Community Christmas Event will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday on Main Street.
