Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice

Thumbs-up to the caring and sharing shown by family, friends, neighbors and strangers in response to the problems caused by Harvey!
Thumbs-up to appreciating things we often take for granted. Electricity, clean water, landline telephone service, home delivery of the Victoria Advocate, ice, and television have become such expected parts of our lives, but Hurricane Harvey has made us realize they can be luxuries.
Thumbs-up to people being cautious and courteous at intersections while our traffic signals are disrupted.
Thumbs-up for the compassion, humanity and decency shown by many folks during the Hurricane Harvey ordeal.
Even in the dimmest of times, the light of Christ conquers the darkness.
Thumbs-up to the first responders and emergency personnel who worked so tirelessly to maintain order within the chaos of the hurricane.
Thumbs-up to President Trump and Vice President Pence visiting the areas greatly affected by Harvey - in a show of support for the citizens of the state of Texas.
Thumbs-up to the national day of giving and all of the charitable efforts to help Texans in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
Thumbs-down to the fierce, hungry mosquitoes waiting for a meal of me when I go out my door! They surely do add to the problems.
