Local golfer to particpate in Senior PGA

David Lundstrom has qualified for the 2017 Senior PGA Professional Championship, which will take place from Thursday through Oct. 1 at the Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

More than 264 club professionals 50 years old and better will tee up in the first two rounds with the field being cut to 70 at the end of the second day.

The top eight golfers will qualify for the National Senior PGA in 2018 and the cash prize is $300,000.

Lundstrom, 70, became a professional golfer in 1976 and will be playing in his third championship. Lundstrom, who has played in three PGA US Opens, teaches and plays at The Club at the Colony Creek.
