Annual Shutterbugs contest seeks entries

The DeWitt County Shutterbugs is gearing up for its 21st Annual Photography Contest/Exhibition.
Prize money totaling $1,200 will be awarded in both the adult and youth divisions, according to a news release from the group.
The adult division has eight categories: animals, architecture, black and white, flowers/plants, landscapes/scenic, miscellaneous, portraits/people and creative effects.
Photos can be taken by any form of camera, including cellphone, tablet and drone.
First place in each category will receive $50, second place will receive $40 and third place will receive $30. A special wildflower category features an $80 award, and best in show has a prize of $100.
Adults have a $5 entry fee per photo with no limit on entries.
The youth division is open to students in eighth grade or lower and has one general category.
First in youth wins $30, second wins $20 and third wins $10.
Youth entry fee is $3 per entry.
Photos are to be delivered to the Cuero Municipal Library, 207 E. Main St., in Cuero, between March 1 and 29.
No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
April 7, a panel of three qualified judges will select winning photographs based on technical merit and artistic impression. The exhibition will be at the Cuero Municipal Library in Cuero from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday April 10-May 3.
