Editor, the Advocate:
I have been a life-long resident of Victoria County, with the exception of my time in the United States Navy. I am a fourth generation law enforcement officer and third generation to serve in our great county - having spent a total of 20 years in local law enforcement. I'm proud to say that the next generation of my family is well on the path of law enforcement to serve Victoria County.
The coordination of law enforcement agencies within our area, helping people in times of need as well as the successful prosecution of criminal cases, takes a special person. One who is willing to work together, see the common goal and do what is right. Our community is in need of Constance Filley Johnson, who is just that person.
As the daughter of a United States Marine, Constance understands veterans and service to our country. As the daughter of a former law enforcement officer who turned into one fine district attorney, she understands the commitment necessary to serve. As an educator turned accomplished attorney in her own right, she is not foreign to the challenges that the Criminal District Attorney Office poses.
Constance is from Victoria County. She knows and understands us.
Constance is the leader we need in Victoria County as our next Criminal District Attorney. I encourage everyone to search their hearts and minds, see the potential our great community has and vote for Constance Filley Johnson.
