Goliad graduate invited to NFL draft showcase

ADDISON - Texas-San Antonio quarterback Dalton Sturm has been named to the all-star roster for the fourth annual College Gridiron Showcase and Symposium scheduled for Jan. 6-10 at Greenhill School.

Sturm, a Goliad graduate, will join teammate Devron Davis, a cornerback, and more than 80 other NFL draft-eligible players from around the country at the five-day showcase with a controlled scrimmage format.

Sturm started 35 games at quarterback for the Roadrunners. He completed 482 of 811 passes for 5,768 yards and a program-record 49 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,227 yards and seven touchdowns.

Sturm finished his UTSA career as the school's all-time leader in passing efficiency (134.7) and touchdown passes in a season (20 in 2016).

He set single-game records for passing yards (367) passing touchdowns (4), passing efficiency (257.9) and total offense (395 yards).

More than 110 NFL scouts and executives representing 30 teams attended last year's event.
