The Riverside Food Truck Fest announced its next event will be a partnership with the University of Houston-Victoria for its homecoming celebration.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 3 in Riverside Park.

Entry is free with food available for purchase.

Organizer Mark Martinez said there has been a huge response from vendors wanting to join since the announcement made Wednesday on social media.

Local favorites and out-of-town food trucks as well as arts and crafts vendors are starting to sign up for the event.

"We're just now getting together the list, but the vendors are definitely excited to be a part of it," he said.

The Riverside Food Truck Fest had scheduled an event in the fall, but it was canceled because the park was closed after Hurricane Harvey.

Martinez, who owns Street Treats of Victoria, said they hope to have at least one more event this year.

He said the university is planning activities, such as a 5k to benefit the school's mascot at the Texas Zoo, a crowning ceremony and doubleheader baseball game.
