Chelsea Price was hired as the student recruitment coordinator for the University of Houston-Victoria School of Nursing. She meets with prospective students and attends recruiting events to present information and answer questions about the university's nursing programs. She previously was a senior team leader at Target. Price is pursuing a graduate degree in student affairs counseling from UHV.

Lynne Vasquez has joined the University of Houston-Victoria staff as human resources assistant. She assists with employment advertising and presents information to applicants and new employees. Vasquez previously worked in human resources for the Victoria Independent School District. She is obtaining a bachelor's degree in business administration from UHV.

Mark Ward Sr., an assistant professor of communication at the University of Houston-Victoria, was named to the executive council of the Religious Communication Association, an international scholarly organization for the study of communication in religious contexts. As a member of the association's governing body, he will serve in the office of electronic communication curator.

Lisette Barton, an assistant professor in the UHV School of Nursing, has been invited to make a presentation at the Elevate Outcomes with Health Education Systems Inc. Conference in Las Vegas on March 14, where she will present "Predictors and Interventions to Promote Timely Progression and NCLEX Success."
