Larry M. Barfield, formerly of Cuero, received the 2010 Engineer of the Year Award for Texas on June 24 at the Texas Society of Professional Engineers Conference and 74th Annual Meeting.

Sandra McNeely, a faculty member in the University of Houston-Victoria School of Nursing, will present a poster in October at the MD Anderson Cancer Center 14th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference on Supportive Care, Hospice and Palliative Medicine in Houston. The title of the poster is "Using Book Discussion as Context for Teaching End-of-Life Care." The poster highlights one of UHV's new elective nursing courses. which explores concepts related to qualify care for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Donna Easley, certified insurance counselor, of Easley Insurance was recently recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, a leading national insurance professional organization. Easley was awarded for marking more than 15 years of participation as a designated CIC.
