Faith groups unite to send aid to immigrants, refugees

Sister Mildred Truchard, of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament Convent; Pastor Cheryl Kester-Schmidt, of Christ the Victor Lutheran Church; and Sister Rebecca Janacek, of Promise Pointe, sort donated gift cards that will be sent to five organizations that assist vetted asylum seekers and refugees. Several Victoria faith-based organizations have partnered to collect the gift cards.

  • Sister Mildred Truchard’s last name was misspelled in photo captions that printed on pages A1 and A3 of Saturday’s edition.
