Three people received emergency medical care after a recreational boat ran aground early Sunday morning near Baffin Bay, south of Corpus Christi.

Two men and one woman suffered injuries in the shallow-water impact, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife, which responded to the scene. TPWD has not released the names of those involved.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Edward Wargo said the cause of the crash is unknown but may be related to the boat’s GPS system.

All three people involved were taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi – Shoreline, according to a news release from the Coast Guard.

The crash is under investigation by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
