PORT O’CONNOR – A law enforcement tractor-trailer was parked at a Port O’Connor boat and RV storage facility Monday night.
Area residents said several law enforcement officials and vehicles were near the Liberty Arms Boat and RV Storage site, 14125 SH 185 East, which is just outside Seadrift, since about 3 p.m. Monday.
A Calhoun County official Monday said he could not comment about why officials were at the storage facility.
Since early August 2018, county officials along with a vast network of volunteers and the statewide nonprofit search organization EquuSearch have looked for Suzie Escobedo, a 25-year-old Seadrift mother, who disappeared. Officials have said they suspect foul play was involved in her disappearance in part because she left behind her keys, cellphone and an infant daughter she was caring for.
Officials and volunteers have conducted searches with boats, all-terrain vehicles, drones and helicopters for the missing woman.
A Victoria County Sheriff’s Office tractor-trailer was also parked inside the gates at the business.
Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, a spokesman with the Department of Public Safety, confirmed that the Texas Rangers are assisting the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation.
