Fire truck

Firefighters extinguished a burning car in Victoria on Thursday night.

About 11:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of East Mimosa Avenue and North Laurent Street, where they found a Hyundai Sonata fully engulfed in flames, said Victoria Fire Marshal Tom Legler.

The car’s two juvenile occupants pulled the car over after it caught fire while driving, Legler said.

No one was injured, and no nearby buildings were damaged, but the Hyundai was likely destroyed by fire, Legler said.

He described his office’s investigation as still in its early stages.

He had no guess Friday as to the fire’s cause.
