The 60th Annual Blessing Day in Blessing will be Sunday, complete with raffle, barbecue lunch and a parade down Main Street.

All proceeds are used for scholarships for Tidehaven High School seniors.

The event used to be called Blessing Homecoming because it was a day for people who grew up there and had moved away to return and visit with friends and relatives. This still happens.

The barbecue meals, which cost $8 per plate, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dine in the air-conditioned Blessing Community Center Building, eat outside at a picnic table placed under the trees or the pavilion or take your plate home.

The parade will begin at 2 p.m. There will be booths with crafts, games, rides, drinks and food for sale throughout the day.

For booth information, contact Aven Rhoades at 361-588-7424 or 367-588-6500.

For parade information, contact Penny Bloom at 361-588-6211 or 979-240-3943.
