An Inez native is returning to the Crossroads to work at the Cuero Regional Hospital’s family clinic.

Dr. Cody Walthall is joining the Parkside Family Clinic, according to a news release from the hospital. Walthall is board-certified in family medicine with a subspecialty in obstetrics.

He graduated from the Ross University School of Medicine before completing his internship and residency at the family medicine program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences West, according to the release.

Walthall received advanced training in high-risk pregnancies, surgical obstetrics, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy and emergency medicine during his residency, according to the hospital.

Walthall grew up on his family’s ranch in Inez and is returning to the Crossroads with his wife, Sarah Walthall, and their three children.

“I am so happy to return home to South Texas with my family. The community has embraced me, and my family feels right at home. I am eager to get involved in the community as well as grow my practice,” Walthall said in a statement. “I look forward to making a difference in this community I call home.”

Walthall’s first day at the practice is Aug. 1. He is accepting new patients. He is also an attending physician at Cuero Regional Hospital.
