CUERO

July 19

Cattle on hand: 1,360

Had 99 cows and 26 bulls. The packer market was much stronger as numbers remain low and demand high. Top bulls were up $8 over last week, while top cows were up $3.

The calf market also looked stronger on the better quality calves. As usual some spots were $1 to $2 higher, while some were just steady with last few weeks. Very encouraging with the ongoing saga with the corn crop. Reports are that we are past the peak numbers coming off feed, which should lend some stability to the market.
