Everyday Hero

Keisha Ringland

Keisha Ringland

• Occupation: Walgreens employee

• Hometown: Victoria

Why honored: Keisha Ringland, a cashier at Walgreens, went to her car in the parking lot a few days ago when it was time for her 30-minute lunch break. There she found a man with a dead car battery parked next to her car. Keisha's lunch plans evaporated immediately. She offered her assistance to the stranger, and he gratefully accepted. Fortunately, Keisha always keeps jumper cables in her vehicle. She and the man went to work charging the battery. When he thanked her before driving away, Keisha replied that she was happy to help and hoped that he would pass it on to someone needing help in the future.
