Two vehicles collided Saturday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 87 and U.S. 77 Frontage Road.

No injuries were reported, said Sherry Hornstein, a senior patrol officer with the Victoria Police Department.

Leona Headley, a 57-year-old Victoria resident, was northbound on U.S. 87 in a white Ford Mustang with two passengers when she failed to control speed and ran into the back of a black Ford Escape driven by a Yorktown man, Hornstein said.

“There was a long line of cars that had stopped and she didn’t realize,” she said.

Headley received a citation for failure to control speed.

Victoria police and the Victoria Fire Department responded to the crash about 4:20 p.m. The road was cleared before 5 p.m.
