BENJAMIN J. HUBBARD
PORT LAVACA - Benjamin ('Ben' or 'Benji') Jillian Hubbard was born in Glen Cove, New York to the late Levell and Gladys Hubbard on May 17, 1962. He departed this life on November 23, 2017.
As a graduate of Locust Valley HS in NY, Benji loved sports! During his lifetime he played hockey and baseball for the town of Locust Valley. He also LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Washington Redskins. When you entered his bedroom you felt as if you were in a Redskins museum!
Benjamin also worked hard alongside his nephew, Darius Hubbard and his father, the late Levelle Hubbard, helping to run the, Lee Hubbard Cesspool, family business. He will always be remembered for coming home after work, while his nieces and nephews sat in the living room, going into the pocket of his pants, pulling out a hand full of change, and tossing it in the air! He would laugh as all of the kids scrambled on the floor to pick up all the coins. Benji later relocated to Texas with this father and his 3 daughters.
He is now joined together in heaven with his parents, Levell and Gladys Hubbard, and his sister, Barbara Hollingsworth. He leaves to cherish him memory, 3 daughters; Tashana Zachary, Kayla Reyes (son-in-law Anthony), Nakeesha Hubbard (fiance' Dominic Pendergrass); two brothers, David L. Hubbard (sister-in-law Fredia), and Levelle 'Tuffy' Hubbard; five sisters, Rosetta Beckett (brother-in-law Jerry), Essie Hubbard-Sample (brother-in-law Argressor), Ernestine Hubbard, Katherine Hubbard-Miller (brother-in-law Ricky), and Laverne Hubbard; grandchildren, Anthony Reyes, Armoni Reyes, Azavion Reyes, Azriel Reyes, Izabella Morales, Rashad Stewart, Ra'Sean Harvey, Donnel Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Alamo Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Bishop David Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.
