Finley Barth

Born on March 24, 1941



CUERO - Finley D. Barth Jr., 76, of Cuero passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018. He was born March 24, 1941 in Karnes City to the late Finley D. Barth Sr. and Ethel A. Rummel Barth. Finley married the love of his life, Eileen Rose Rangnow on September 2, 1962 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero. He was a principal and teacher for 30 years. After retiring from Woodsboro, he went on to teach at Shiner Catholic School, worked for Alamo Lumber, the Yorktown newspaper, The Tech Center, staked water wells, delivered for the Cuero Record, and was well known for his carpentry work all over the county. Finley touched the lives of so many throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Barth of Cuero; daughter, Shanna Burge and husband, Ricky, of Cuero; son, Ricky Barth and wife, Marta, of Celeste; sisters, Mary Lou Cole and husband, Andy, of Goliad and Doris Ann Cummings of Ramer, TN; brother, Cecil Dean Barth and wife, Cheryl, of McGregor; grandchildren, Ashley Barth Sparkman, Matthew Barth, and Sean Burge; and great-grandchild, Madison Rose Sparkman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, James Cummings. Visitation will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018, 10:30 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. William Hill and Lyman Mereness officiating. Interment will follow at Lindenau Community Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ricky Barth, Matthew Barth, Rick Burge, Sean Burge, Ashton Sparkman, and Bobby Hranicky. Honorary pallbearers include Thomas Cole, David Barth, Greg Westbrook, and Wayne Smith.
