AUSTIN — Joyce Hart passed away in Austin, Texas, December 29, 2021, after a short illness. She was born in Victoria Texas September 26, 1945, to Eugene and Lydia (Holub) Waitschies. Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and was known as “Granny” to many.
She is survived by her daughter Judy Hart; son Jeff Hart; grandson Tyler Hart-Pins (Juliette) all of Austin Texas and brother Gary Waitschies (Andrea) of Springfield Virginia. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children Jim Hart and grandson A. J. Hart.
Joyce lived and worked in Colorado, Arizona and Missouri before returning to Texas in 1992 where she lived until her passing. She was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church (The Quarries) where she enjoyed her ladies Bible Study group.
Family was very important to Joyce especially her two grandsons. She loved family barbecues and attending family reunions. She also loved the Texas coast and spent many days in Port Aransas and Rockport, in particular, with her family and cousins. She was passionate about taking cruises and that became her favorite vacation venue. For her 70th birthday she was blessed with a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands with her brother and sister-in-law.
Joyce enjoyed crocheting and many people were lucky to receive one of her creations. She also crocheted baby blankets for the “Linus Project”.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Joyce’s life.

Joyce was a wonderful lady and great band booster for the Lanier HS Band (now Navarro) Her little red van she drove was always taking the band kids and equipment to different gigs. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or just show support to the band. She was a kind sweet lady and she will be missed.
