Letters to the editor

Editor, the Advocate:

Our new city manager already wants to increase staff at City Hall? Seems Mr. Garza would give himself a few months before coming up with ideas to increase tax revenue spending. Just maybe he is underestimating himself. What if he were to surprise himself and find out that he could handle the job by himself.

Judge Zeller is defending the proposed new position of pet adoption coordinator. He says there will be no budget increase because of being short one dogcatcher, so salary is already allotted for in the budget. I seriously doubt the “coordinator” will work at a dogcatcher’s salary. Plus, he will no doubt need an office and vehicle, but alas, the new office, I guess could be in the newly acquired “old” Victoria Advocate building, which will no doubt need renovation money. Streets? Drainage?
