Letters to the editor

Editor, the Advocate:

Cuero Regional Hospital and Whispering Oaks Rehab and Nursing partnered together to collect box fans for area seniors and the community responded! 118 fans were donated by area individuals and businesses. Fans were passed out on Monday, July 22, as well as delivered to several organizations, including Cuero PD, Cuero FD, C.A.M.A.L. House, Cuero Home Health and others to get the fans to the elderly quickly.

The success of this fan drive is shared by many, and I’d like to take a moment to thank you all. To our friends at TrustTexas Bank, GVEC, Accolade Hospice, Walmart, city of Cuero, Victoria College Cuero VN program, Cuero ISD, and Alamo Lumber – I am in awe of your generosity. I especially want to thank our individual donors: Cuero Home Health employees, Cuero Regional Hospital employees. Cuero Medical Clinic employees, members of the CRH Board of Directors and Whispering Oaks Rehab and Nursing employees for their donations. A special thank-you to our media partners for helping to spread the word on the drive. Your actions are the essence of true partnership!

When a need arises, this community responds. Thanks to all who supported the Cuero Community Fan Drive.

Emily Weatherly, Cuero Regional Hospital
