Thumbs-Up, Thumbs-Down

THUMBS-UP

Thumbs-up to and congratulations to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on their 150th anniversary!

Toni, Edna

Thumbs-up to Barbara Breazeale for her excellent guest column on July 4. It made me proud to be an American.

Frances, Ganado

Thumbs-up to Camp Aranzazu for providing a getaway for the Brownson Home youths whose families can no longer provide for them. The camp experience will provide healing for them. We are so blessed to have a place like this.

LaVerne, Victoria

From the Advocate Editorial Board

Thumbs-up to AshBritt Environmental for sponsoring STEM camps from Science Mill, an educational organization based in Johnson City that provides an immersive STEM experience for middle school students, at the Victoria Independent School District Conference Center last week.

Thumbs-up to the city of Victoria for its plans to improve Hopkins Park, Ethel Lee Tracy Park and Boulevard Park.

Thumbs-up to Splashway for implementing Dueling Splash Blasters coaster at its park. The only coaster of its kind debuted Monday at the park.

Thumbs-up to the Day of Care that provided showers, clothing vouchers, basic care packages and lunch for homeless and low-income individuals.

THUMBS-DOWN

Thumbs-down to all the all the lazy people who will not put their shopping carts at the shopping places. Parking lots get pretty full, then your laziness just makes people have to get out of their car to put up the cart before they can get in a space or move it out of the way to get out. You’re not going to melt.

Ron, Victoria

Thumbs-down to all the people who mow their lawns and then blow their grass clippings to the curb/street, clogging our storm drains.

Robert, Victoria
