THUMBS-UP
Thumbs-up to Cuero for Christmas in the Park. It is a beautiful experience to go see for the whole family. Thank you Cuero Development Corporation and to the countless volunteers who put this together. A good way to end 2020.

Thumbs-up to Diana at IHOP who somehow found a side of Mac & Cheese off the morning kids’ menu then later cleaned up a massive drink spill with a smile on her face.

Thumbs-up to the honest person who returned my phone to the store after I left it in my cart at Walmart on Houston Highway, I was so relieved to get it back.

Thumbs-up to the St. Joseph volleyball girls for winning a state championship. We are proud of you.

Thumbs-up to being able to read Dave McNeely’s column in the Advocate Tuesday morning. He always provides the best nonpartisan insight into and analysis of what is going on over in Austin. Hope to see more of them.

Thumbs-up to the Victoria Advocate for the Further Review article, “Uneasy Journey” with a full page of information on the landing of the Mayflower and the Pilgrims. I enjoyed the statistics and historical perspective, along with great pictures and graphics. Please have more like this in the future- it was very informative. Thanks.

THUMBS-DOWN
Thumbs-down to the death of Dr. Walter Williams. He was one of the greatest modern day thinkers. The VA will have to search hard to replace his quality columns.

Thumbs-down to the genius with the City of Victoria that designed a median on Navarro with no left turn into or out of Castle Hills West, but foolishly felt like we needed a new traffic signal on Morning Glory for the Primrose edition that already has 11 different exits onto three major streets…

Whatever it takes to mess up the traffic on Navarro. And not quite Christmas yet.
TDOT or The Texas Department of Transportation owns the decision not the City of Victoria for the Navarro median.
