The number of COVID-19 patients admitted to local healthcare facilities in Victoria and the surrounding counties reached the highest levels of the pandemic Friday.

Throughout Victoria and five nearby counties, there are 140 patients with COVID-19 who are currently in a healthcare facility, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. This number could include both those who were admitted to a hospital after becoming seriously ill with the respiratory disease as well as those who might already have been in a healthcare facility when they became infected.
