Ashley Hernandez secured the Republican nomination for Victoria County tax assessor-collector in Tuesday's runoff election.

Hernandez, 35, of Victoria, took 5,364 votes in the election according to the unofficial final results, while challenger David Hagan, 52, of Victoria, took 3,324 votes. The unofficial results were posted shortly after 10 p.m.
