Products seized by Port Lavaca police from the Faded Smoke Shop.

A Port Lavaca smoke shop owner says the cannabis products she was selling were legal after police searched her business and arrested an employee Tuesday.

Port Lavaca police arrested the employee, Daniel Herrera, 23, while executing a search warrant, said Police Chief Colin Rangnow said Wednesday. During the search, they also seized cannabis products sold there.

Glad to see the police are out there....uh....protecting us from scary possibly legal substances?

A drug, totally legal in half the states, now considered not only not dangerous but with positive health effects.

There are far more serious problems to public health.

Are there not more pressing problems for law enforcement?

Paul -- Not only half the states here but all of Canada. With Civil Forfeiture laws the police get to keep everything the arrested person has, on the grounds that it all came from the proceeds of illegal activity. That couldn't possibly be motivational could it?
