Goliad County Jail

A jailer at the Goliad County Jail, pictured, is accused of passing contraband to an inmate. The Texas Rangers are conducting an investigation.

The Texas Rangers are investigating an inmate’s accusation that a Goliad County jailer gave another inmate contraband.

As of Friday, the jailer has remained on paid administrative leave since mid-January when the accusation was made, said Goliad County Sheriff Kirby Brumby.

The Victoria Advocate is not naming that jailer because he has not been charged with a crime.
