The Victoria County Elections Commission Board met Friday to address concerns raised by poll watchers during the November election and clarify the rules that govern poll watchers.

The meeting to address two poll watchers’ concerns about being kept distanced while observing election clerks last November is being held just over a week after the Texas Senate advanced a controversial bill that would broaden poll watchers’ access at polling places and even give them authority to video record voters receiving assistance if they “reasonably believe” the help is unlawful.

We are witnessing the affect of the “Big Lie”. The Republican Party’s strategy is to limit, restrict, disqualify, discourage and intimidate minority voters who are likely democratic voters. Local poll watchers are a key part of the Republican Party’s commitment to support the “Big Lie”.

The more I hear about Zuck the more I hope he loses his bid. We don't need a man like him to have any more power in this town.

Why are Republicans so paranoid? Especially in a county that usually has a Republican running against another Republican.

In the past, the observers sat as close as 18-24 inches away from the election clerks! What’s next? Do they want a handwriting expert assigned to every election clerk just to be on the safe side? So much for the secret ballot.

A member of the Early Voting Ballot Board didn’t know it was illegal to take pictures of the election results? Should that person be on the board?

“Paul Wyrick, a leader of the modern conservative movement, told a gathering of religious leaders in 1980,” As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down. Nov 1, 2020, NYT editorial board. Trump said on Fox and Friends “ The GOP is hurt when it’s easier to vote.”

I agree. I’ve never had any issues voting down here. Seems way over the top.
