With a 10-card-high hand, Martin Cano bluffed his earnings to 80 times their worth on Saturday and won the World Series of Refugio Texas Hold ‘em benefit.

Cano, of Victoria, competed in the poker tournament for the first time while entry fees and business sponsorships benefited the Refugio ISD Education Foundation and its grant program benefiting Refugio Independent School District classes. Cano’s family and friends cheered him on to receive a $4,000 first-place check in the tournament of about 200 people.
