Local officials implored Victoria residents to wear facial coverings and keep a physical distance from other people to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“If everyone’s wearing a mask, that coronavirus has got to go through two specific barriers to get into you,” said Dr. John McNeill, Victoria’s local health authority, during a news conference Friday. “There is no science-based justification to say, ‘I don’t want to wear a mask.”

How many of those positive cases were people who were actually showing symptoms or sick? How accurate are the tests? Why are we trying to copy the big cities like Austin, Houston and San Antonio? WE have an entirely different situation.

Alonzo Salazar

Fain, care to elaborate on what makes our CV-19 crisis different?

Fain Zimmerman

This situation is no different from the previous. We never did need lockdown, masks or distancing. And do not now need it. Check on the countries that followed this kind of protecol - their numbers were the same - or less - as the ones who did. All the masks and distancing do is create fear. Fear is what makes is sick.

Alonzo Salazar

Folks, people behind these comments are the reason we’ll have millions infected and hundreds of thousands deaths from CV-19.

Glenn Wilson

No, Fain. A virus is what's making people sick, not fear, and until there's a medical solution such as a vaccine all we can do is take common sense precautions, however efficient they may or may not be.

The virus thrives on fear. Turn off the TV and media talking heads, which only wants to sell eyeballs. I'm not going to argue - its useless. To beat the virus ,eat healthy food, keep your immune system strong and live fearlessly, love your family, get plenty of sleep, avoid junk food. Out of all those many new cases, I wonder how many are actually showing symptoms, sick or in the hospital? How accurate are the tests? I've read the tests are about 37% accurate with many false negatives, as well as false positives. How can anyone seriously believe these numbers and what do they really mean?
