I spent a good portion of my childhood buried in the pages of fiction, but as an adult, I've found an equal if not greater fascination in reality. At the Victoria Advocate, I am blessed daily with the opportunity to examine many of the most meaningful moments in the lives of Crossroads residents. And the courtrooms of the Crossroads, I have learned, are the settings for many of those life-changing moments. I began my career as a writer at Texas State University in San Marcos with a degree in journalism and a spot on the college newspaper. After graduating, I joined the Victoria Advocate newspaper staff as a general assignment reporter, chasing breaking news and writing colorful stories for the entertainment section. In that time, I have come to love the area's charm and warm-hearted people. After more than seven years in Texas, this Alabama-born and Georgia-raised reporter is proud to call the Crossroads home.
