Karn Dhingra covers city hall and county commissioners court for the Victoria Advocate. He is interested in reporting, investigating and explaining how government decisions at the local, state and national level affect the daily lives of Crossroads residents. After spending nearly 11 years in Washington, D.C., working in an array of political consulting and public relations jobs, Karn decided he wanted to make a return to journalism and be closer to his family in his home state of Texas. His only previous job in journalism was at The Galveston Daily News, where he was a general assignment reporter, covering everything from NASA, crime and breaking news to local ghost hunting enthusiasts. There's a good chance he might be the only reporter to work for the two oldest newspapers in Texas. Originally from Houston, he earned a B.A. in international studies at Southern Methodist University and is an alumnus of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
